We have yet another new choir member. This one is, I think, a cradle Catholic who is now flirting with Buddhism. She’s said things that lead me to believe she’s not formally committed to it. She sits next to me and is very personable with a nice voice and she doesn’t go flat. At her first choir mass she commented to me how my parish church reminded her of the Buddhist concept of chaos. I think she meant the absence of a meditative atmosphere, with people being restless before mass. Then I thought perhaps she meant the beautiful stained glass pictures and designs. I commented that yes, people were rather restless and I nudged her and said, “remind me to tell you my conversion story someday.” I met her half-wolf dog after mass; grabbing the opportunity to mention St. Francis and the wolf. She asked if I thought the story was true and I told her I believed it. She then aquiesed that it was probably true.
I believe the Holy Spirit has brought her to our choir to bring her back to the Church. She has an adorable little baby girl and a fellow I think is her husband.
Any suggestions on how I should conduct myself in this situation are welcome. (I’ll be checking for replies later tomorrow; thank you).
