This is an Anglican Use parish, acting under the Pastoral Provision established by the late Pope John Paul II for “refugee” Anglicans. It is not TLM. They use a beautifully “Katholicked” version of the Book of Common Prayer. They are fully in communion with Rome and fully orthodox. Try it, you’ll like it! 👍
 
I don’t know about the parishes, but I wanted to let you know that I’m praying for you and your compatriots who were displaced. God bless you.
 
Praise God that you have escaped to a safe place.

And after reading there liturgy, I say go. It looks better than the Novus ordo. How sad.

No, that wasnt my point. I was saying how sad that an “Anglican Use” parish has a better liturgy than the majority of RC parishes. I am not one who thinks the Novus Ordo is invalid, but I do think it’s lacking much, as it looks like alot of you believe as well.

None the less I will still hope one day to have the Trid’ in English without the preist facing the parishioners.

It is not sad! It is the only way we can STAY Catholic! Find 1 NO Mass that doesn’t have something crazy going. Even the Papal Masses have nude people, dancing around the altar, jugglers, etc… The new Pope is same as the old Pope.

Let’s hope so…the old Pope was a saint (and will be a saint).

You are most welcome to come to my parish, Our Lady of Las Vegas, if you are ever in the area. We do the NO right. But then, in my experience, the NO is USUALLY done right, abuses are rare, but spectacular, and there’s just no pleasing some people.

Is avoiding the Novus Ordo worth schism? I suspect people who know how to navigate these forums know how to find whatever they are looking for, but it would be nice not to see it advertised on “catholic-dot-com.”

Welcome, neighbor. Have you tried to call the diocese and ask for information on this? I live on the outskirts, so I am unfamliar with what the metropolitan area offers.

The only way you STAY Catholic is by submitting to the authority of Rome!! The NO is here to stay, sorry for all of you who think that the TLM is somehow superior. And no, Summa, that wasn’t directed at you. 🙂 Sorry Ortho, but refusing to accept that the NO is a valid Mass hardly makes you an Orthodox Catholic. In fact, it makes you a schismatic.
 
Welcome to the neighborhood!! I live in the next town West of Katy (Fulshear). You are now in the diocese of Galveston-Houston. We have one indult TLMass at Annunciation Chuch (downtown). They also have a Latin NO. I am not sure if they have a website (couldn’t find one) but here is the info from the diocese parish finder. Annunciation The 8am Mass is the TLM (last time I checked). The 11am is the Latin NO. My son’s soccer coach is a parishioner at Annunciation so I can get more specific info if you want.

We have no FSSP parishes here. I hear there are one or two SSPX chapels but that is a different thing altogether.

Our Lady of Walingsham is a lot closer to you now but, as pointed out in an earlier post, it is Anglican Use - not TLM. I think their only Latin Mass is Wednesday at noon anyway. There is a regularly scheduled Latin NO Mass at Holy Rosary (also downtown).

Katy is a real mixed bag in terms of non-TLM masses. There are several parishes, including one that is one of the most out-there liberal ones in the diocese, but also one that is very GIRM conscious with a very orthodox pastor.

I can see no problem with attending Eastern Rite Liturgy or even an Anglican-use Liturgy, but attending the SSPX is problematic since they aren’t in communion with Rome. And yes, the Pope has said so, read on forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=71053
 
The main reason why I want a TLM is first I like it and second I don’t want to walk into to a church where their is no respect for the mass. I went to both back at home because the same priest said both the TLM and NO (I HOPE HE IS SAFE IN NEW ORLEANS). He was a holy, orthodox, funny, and great priest. Thanks for all y’all’s help.
