My beloved mother-in-law may be at death’s door and I would like to have a particular scripture verse on hand, just in case. It’s the one about the worth of a virtuous woman. I’m sure most of you are familiar with it, I just don’t have time to look for it right now…

Thanks–

Prov 31: ?

10An (M)excellent wife, who can find?
For her worth is far (N)above jewels.
11The heart of her husband trusts in her,
And he will have no lack of gain.
12She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
13She looks for wool and flax
And works with her hands in delight.
14She is like (O)merchant ships;
She brings her food from afar.
15She (P)rises also while it is still night
And (Q)gives food to her household
And portions to her maidens.
16She considers a field and buys it;
From her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17She (R)girds herself with strength
And makes her arms strong.
18She senses that her gain is good;
Her lamp does not go out at night.
19She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hands grasp the spindle.
20She (S)extends her hand to the poor,
And she stretches out her hands to the needy.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household,
For all her household are (T)clothed with scarlet.
22She makes ((“http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=24&chapter=31&version=49#cen-NASB-17307U”))coverings for herself;
Her clothing is (V)fine linen and (W)purple.
23Her husband is known (X)in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
24She makes (Y)linen garments and sells them,
And supplies belts to the tradesmen.
25Strength and (Z)dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future.
26She (AA)opens her mouth in wisdom,
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27She looks well to the ways of her household,
And does not eat the (AB)bread of idleness.
28Her children rise up and bless her;
Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:
29"Many daughters have done nobly,
But you excel them all."
30Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
But a woman who (AC)fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

I am sorry about your mother in law. I will remember her in my prayers today.

Also, don’t forget The Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Sorry about your MIL.:gopray2:

Tell her to call on Jesus

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Tell her to call on Jesus

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
"Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. " ~ Mat 7:21

Please don’t listen to this person Sophie.
She is using Mat 7:21 out of context. God cannot lie. Do God’s will and call on Jesus.

Remember this is God speaking.

Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you believe that your mother-in-law is the “whosoever” that God talks about, then please have her call on Jesus.

Of course it is God speaking. The entire Bible is God’s message to us.

Not everyone who calls on the name will be saved - in Mat 7 that I quoted, there were those who called on the Lord that were not saved … God goes onto to say:

Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’

"And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’

It’s not just a “belief” in God - the Bible says that the demons believe and surely you’d agree that they aren’t “saved.”

And in no way shape or form am I talking about Sophie’s Mother in law. Since Sophie asked for the verse about a “virtuous woman” I can only assume that is what her dear Mother in law is. I was just clearing up some confusion I think you have. (you’re welcome!) If you have anymore questions or wish to discuss this further, please start a new thread.

Sophie, please know that I prayed for your dear Mother in law today. I prayed that she would be filled with the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. I am so sorry your family is going through this right now. Hopefully the Easter season will remind you that because of Jesus’ victory on the cross, you have the wonderful hope of seeing her again.

God Bless you,
CM

But this is way off topic. I suggest you start a new thread if you have more questions or would like to discuss this further.

People who do not call on Jesus is not doing God’s will. God specifically said to call on Jesus. Please don’t be the ones who didn’t call on Jesus before they died. Please have your mother-in-law call on the only person that can save her. You MUST do this now. Please do this.

I found a great site for looking up Bible verses. www.biblegateway.com

They don’t have any Catholic translations, but it’s easy enough to go to the usccb site and get the “Catholic version” of whatever verse it is. I use this method all the time when making presentations or talking with people.

You haven’t actually mentioned if your dear mother-in-law is conscious or not and if she is Catholic or not.
If she is conscious and Catholic a priest should give the last rites and she can make a confession.
If she is Catholic but not conscious the priest can still give the last rites.
As another poster said you can pray the Divine Mercy in her presence.
Don’t worry. She can be saved.
