Does anyone here know anything about a Catholic organisation called ‘NET Ministries?’ ‘NET’ stands for ‘national evangelization teams.’ It’s based in Minneapolis/St Paul, and is a missionary program for young adults, who spend nine months traveling around the country in teams, sharing the Gospel with young people and their families. According to their website, “NET Ministries is under the ecclesiastical vigilance of the Most Reverend John C. Nienstedt, Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.”

In looking around their website, it seems to be a wonderful program, not only during the missionary phase but with opportunities for working in youth ministry at Catholic churches all over the country after the nine-month missionary program is finished. My son, who has been interested in youth and young adult ministry since graduating from high school (he’s since graduated from college as well) has applied to be on one of their teams, and I just wondered if anyone here has had personal experience with them or knows of someone who went through the program and can share any extra information they may have about it.

I don’t know if posting a link to an outside source is allowed here, so I won’t do that, but if you just google NET Ministries, the first thing that comes up is their official website.

Thanks in advance! 🙂

We came from Minnesota and had the privilege of volunteering for NET ministries during the school year.

Every school year on the first Saturdays of the month, they hold what is called “Lifeline”, its mass, a really cool band that helps out a lot in worship, a talk with a guest speaker and after its either adoration or reflection time.

We had sooo much fun doing that and seeing thousands of kids go in there and worship and be proud to be Catholics.

If your son is really interested in becoming a missionary, kudos to him! As far as I know, there is a link on the website that says join NET, it will take you through the process.

Good luck, I know he will have tons of fun!!

I have met a lot of people over the years who served as NET missionaries. I never heard a single one of them speak poorly of the experience.

The experience will definitely be an attractive bullet point on his resume if he plans on going into youth and young adult ministry in any sort of professional capacity.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate your (name removed by moderator)ut! It sounds like a really great organisation. 👍

Now all my son has to do is be accepted! :gopray2:
