No, not St Louis. Edgy political drama sign of the times. Kevin Spacey is outstanding. It’s like the political version of the “24” series:

I’m surprised the media had the guts to air the exchange between Rosseau’s character and Kern’s classmate in season 1 episode 2. They risk the chance that more people might start thinking more deeply. Hard to believe they would take that chance. On the other hand, we need alternative mediae so the public can stop being spoon fed the elite’s inbred worldview.

It’s not very family-friendly, but I find it interesting. I liked how “politics” were left out of it. Unlike the West Wing that stops every 10 minutes to give some big speech about how great liberals are, the show pretty much stayed away from that.

One of the most interesting scenes is when Frank is talking about his former aide who went off to work for a large Halliburton type company instead of going into politics.
Such a waste of talent. He chose money over power. In this town, a mistake nearly everyone makes. Money is the Mc-mansion in Sarasota that starts falling apart after 10 years. Power is the old stone building that stands for centuries. I cannot respect someone who doesn’t see the difference.

It is a remake of a BBC show called “house of cards”. I like it, my only quibble is that
instead of a conservative Torrie they have a Progressive Democrat Representative.
The BBC show was harsher on Torries then the Netflix shows on Democrats. Other than that I think it’s a great show. 😉

I heard it was horrible. 0/10. I’ve read no one’s even tried to build a house of cards yet. False advertising, I say!

(Kidding, of course. The political junkie in me wants to see it at some point)

I like how they left much of the politics out of it, too. It’s funny how West Wing failed to open the minds of viewers to the reality that liberal behaviors are the causes of most of the dependency in the first place. They only chose to show how “generous” it is to vote to raise taxes on innocent people to pay for those who used their Free Will to choose these liberal behaviors which caused much of the dependency. Such a slanted view such as West Wing is almost like propaganda. House of Cards examines the issue of power, which is a refreshing break for me since I no longer feel like I’m trying to open the eyes of the blind.

I liked the series at first, even though it does have some immoral content, the acting is good, but as I watched more and more, I began to despise the main characters, for how evil and corrupt they were, especially his chief of staff who went to great lengths to find and kill that young girl who was involved in destroying another mans credibility.

It also unnerved me that this kind of stuff , and much worse, is probably happening all the time within the real govt today.

I tried to watch it never mind all the adult stuff, that was bad enough. I had a difficult time believing any couple could be so destructive to others.

On Netflix you may see a show about someone that murdered someone else and it can be cruel but it is one murder. This couple seems to have no end to their cruelty so I guess that is one of many reasons why I could not watch, just too cutthroat.

I guess I want to believe that people who campaign that they are working to help people are really more genuine.
