New Age Christianity: 8 Eyes of the H. Spirit

During adoration last Friday, I was approached by a young man who is Christian but with very strong New Age leanings. I pretty much know how to deal with things like crystals and energy fields but I have never heard of something called a “mugger” or “muggar” (I did not ask for the spelling, but it is pronounced just like the word for street bandit) and I have never heard of the “gift” called “The Eight Eyes of the Holy Spirit.”

This person claims to have been given this gift at a special blessing by a pastor (obviously, we are not talking about a Catholic here). He says he can see four blue dots in each of his eyes. It is unclear what they do for him. Is there a new movement of New Ageism combined with “Christianity”?

What is a “mugher” (however it is spelled!) and is there any Biblical basis even for the phrase “Eight Eyes of the Holy Spirit”?

Any hints or comments would be helpful.
 
I tried to do a search on google for eight eyes of the holy spirit and found nothing. I also tried to search for mugger(with different spellings) but found nothing.
 
He was not smoking anything, but he was deeply inhaling an ember of incense he got from a New Age store.

Usually when I have a conversation with someone of a different faith, I try to find out more about their faith. But he seems so clouded that it is hard to tell what he is talking about at times. Yet, he also seems to be somewhat well-read and quite intelligent.

Last we met, I taught him to pray the sorrowful mysteries of the rosary. After all, it was a powerful tool in my own conversion.

For all I know, we may never meet again. I just want to be ready if he does wander into our tiny chapel again.
 
I think you did a great thing by teaching him the rosary. This may ultimately be what he needs to get the dots out of his eyes and see Christ clearly.

And he is drawn to Adoration Chapel for a reason…the Holy Spirit is trying to work.

A new revelation? I would take you two eyes and turn around and start heading in another direction. :eek:
