New book: "Goodbye, Good Teachers"?

I was watching CNN when they were talking about America importing teachers due to a lack of interest in teaching amongst Americans. What do you think? Should they be allowed to marry? Oh, right, they can. Ok. Maybe they need more money. From what I hear, classrooms are a mess, at least in public schools. The inmates are running the asylum there–at least K-18. I don’t think any more money will be enough for a teacher to put up with that. Maybe, as in many of the seminaries and religious orders, radical liberalism needs to be irradicated. It has been proven that seminaries that teach orthodox Catholicism brings us more priests. Maybe orthodox education, that is, without the NEA and liberal school boards, might bring us more teachers.

My sister-in-law is an assistant principal at an elementary school in a very good school district. After hearing some of the stories she has to tell about incidents that happen daily, I can certainly understand why people are less interested in becoming teachers.

A great deal of the problem is that when teachers do apply standards and discipline, they then have to deal with the PARENTS the next day. And the parents always take the side of the children, never the teachers.

It is as though parents are unwilling for teachers to maintain a disciplined classroom if it means that their kids are discomfited in any way.

Right. that happens in my mom’s kindergarten class and how much can she do? Maybe this is the inevitable outcome of a state education. The popes started talking negatively about Masons in the 1800s which is around the time the idea of bringing K-12 kids together was gaining ground. State education is one of the fundamental aims of communists–taking it out of the hands of parents unless, it seems these days, parents can further their aims by protesting against discipline of their kids. They take out Santa Claus, which is kind of a paganistic adaptation of Saint Nicholas and draws our attention from Christ (you think they’s like that) and replace it with a Druidic sounding “winter solstice” celebration (some hypocrisy from who I guess are the separation of church and state crowd or are intimidated by them). Is it a coincidence we have teachers and kids having sex and school shootings on the rise?
On the same note: Is radical theology worth priests having sex with teens in parishes or having erotic other things going on in seminaries where this idle thinking reigns?

Oh right…I forgot…we could have women teachers but alas, we have had them for a few centuries. That doesn’t seem to bring in more teachers either.
