If you read the linked article, you will see the “political” quote was related to a separate issue (prominent Catholics who reject Church teachings on issues such as abortion and euthanasia), not translation.

That said, I’m still suspicious of seeking politicians’ opinions on that matter? If they would meet to give them a private smackdown and chance to cease their dissent else receive a public smackdown, I could understand, but opinions…!? :hmmm:

Thanks for the clarification - I read the article, but apparently it didn’t stick when I read the excerpt in your post…that’ll teach me to count to 10 next time before I click ‘submit reply’! Thanks!

My post, and mea culpa…it bugs me, but it didn’t really belong here!

I understand that the Spanish Missal (currently used in the US) is much closer to the Latin than its English counter-part…

After watching last Friday’s replay of the World Over and the USCCB conference I get the distinct impression that the “Old Guard” is still trying to get around what ever Rome issues as guidelines for anything…there are very few Orthodox Bishops to counter the old progressive guard that use tactics such as “upsetting the laity” and even the statement as the label “British English”.

There also appears to be a majority present that wants no part of Rome reviewing new ideas…

Thank God for the Bishops from Seattle, Denver etc who brought up the many things that were not inline with Rome…there are many still pushing agenda’s not inline with the Holy See.

Please watch or listen to the World Over program for last Friday…

one more reason to stick with the tridentine mass or divine liturgy or another pre-VII mass. even the anglicans did a better job with a heretic like cramner.

you really coudn’t have done a worse job then our bishops.
