As soon as I meet someone new, within a couple of minutes I ask them what church they attend, and it goes from there. Every time at bat isn’t a hit, but it’s frequently an opportunity to explain something about Catholicism or Christianity.

In other words, living life. Our best evangelism tool is the example of our life.

Parishes here are housed in compounds together with a school , varies clergy residences , and some even have a hospital . so many things going on at once. and if you are not careful you could get easily drawn into all kind of activities . I only get involved when I feel there is a need for me . Otherwise I rather just give money and leave it at that … Once I get involved I do not walk way.
Malnutrition. Two month ago tested a meal and it was big success . kids polished the food . intention now is to push it into catholic schools and certain other places as Christian food . evangelizing through food . why not ? it took two long years of experimenting to come up with the near perfect meal . I started out knowing hardly anything. I was helped by some guy who managed food and catering for something like 12 thousand troops. The meal can only be produced on commercial scale in order for it to be economically viable . special equipment had to be rigged . I beat the UN by a long shot . mine costs one tenth and is better than the best the UN could come up with …
Working with the help of friend who teaches at an agricultural school in America was able to improve yield of certain leafy plant and the nutritional content and cut down the time to 5 weeks . plant can be harvested several times . leafs are plugged , washed and sun dried inside fabric to block sand .also another big success. Used in stew . great for the women . good iron content
Lesser projects involving scrap throw away fabric from local tailors . the women use them to make variety of stuff . stuffing , feminine pads, decorations for occasion , crosses , wipes , etc .
Notebooks made from paper cuts from commercial printers . they fold them to make notes . used in arts and crafts classes for kids . kids like to scribble .
Solar ovens rigged from card boxes . inside of cigarettes backs for reflecting material . glass…broken wind shields , glass from the trash , etc. . thermal pots . experimenting now with the feasibility of a solar pot .solar cooking s mostly for cooking dried legumes . 70 degrees Celsius for 6 hours . save on fuel drastically . first one I made some of the people said I was using magic . I told them now please allow me to tell you how I can turn people into lizards .
There is a chance I start Christmass bank next month . make belief bank .kids deposit their money , on xmass they get the money . 100 percent interest . for example if all the money you put adds up to one dollar you get two dollars . opening an account is serious business . I set very strict standards .you have to qualify . kids have to dress properly to open an account . dressed in rags and bare feet are fine but they have to wear a tie. Ties made from date palm leaves , news paper or anything are acceptable . you have to stand on one foot when you get your picture taken . giggling is strictly forbidden . if I make funny faces and you giggle you go to the back of the line . you can not talk. if I say hey that’s a really nice pencil , where did you get it from and you answer, you go to the back of the line . no talking period . you may only present your bank book , and amount of money you want to deposit . the little ones stand there struggling not to giggle . I can see your teeth . better watch it .toddlers may not open a bank account but it’s okay for the little girl to be carrying her toddler brother and sister on her hip when opening her account. She may stand on both feet when taking picture .

If they attend a Catholic church, I’ll ask if they are cradle or convert, how it suits them being Catholic, how does the new Pope grab them, if their understanding of Jesus is different now from when they were kids, stuff like that. We can all be evangelized.

Oh no! I would think that sort of negativity would have an affect on current parishioners. I hate to hear that a priest is not supportive of our efforts.In any case, at least we have a pope with an interest in evangelization. Perhaps converts are more interested in the pope than the parish priest?Zilch!
