There are many threads on school choice. Whether to homeschool, private school, public school, etc. In this day and age, the Church Militant needs to stand and create new parochial schools that are faithful to the their Catholic heritage. The older schools were run by sisters and brothers and priests, this is the age of the laity. It is time the laity get up and do something in this regard. I believe the parents are the primary educators of the children. Homeschooling may be the best solution for an individual, but I seriously doubt that anyone thinks that all parochial schools should close. If the parochial school near to you is not acting right, voice your concern to the proper channel, get involved, and transform it. I don’t think our children are to be guinea pigs in an unsatisfactory school, so what then stops the Faithful from creating a new school. If you are not an administrator, a teacher, or school staff then donate the funds to open new schools. I believe that our children have the right to a Catholic education. It is not a privelege, but a right of Baptism. If the school system is not providing sound education then get out on the battleground and bring home some battle scars. This is not a time to bunker down, but a time to bring the light of Christ out from under the bushel. Find the schools faithful nearest you, support them, send your kids there, sacrifice for the school.
