Another month and more of Winter to go over here,I must get out walking more.
Did you begin a new fitness routine at the beginning of the pandemic, and have you been able to continue it?

I did.

I do 20 minutes of either low impact cardio, strength training, or a mix of strength and cardio, at a moderate pace. None too extreme. No burpees for me.

In the past, meaning pre-pandemic, I used to do really extreme forms of exercise for two weeks and then get injured and be unable to exercise for a month. After that I feel guilty, go all out, get injured again and the cycle repeats itself.

Now I exercise every weekday, rest on the weekends, doing it moderately. The aim is to exercise moderately and do it five days a week. I’ve been doing it since the pandemic started and I’ve been fairly consistent. I also try to incorporate a lot more movement in addition to exercise all throughout the day. However, the summer, I’ve been moving less in this heat and humidity.

When the weather gets cool, I’ll move more in addition to exercise.

I’ve been keeping up with my normal routine that i started pre-pandamec. the last couple months i have been wanting to switch it up and add some weights in but anything in stock has been at extreme price gouging prices.

Walking briskly with my wife a few miles each day. It’s not very strenuous but it’s more exercise than I got before the pandemic (and less of a workout than she was accustomed to).

I will admit that I gained weight since all of this started. 😔 Too much Netflix and not enough physical activity. I need to start walking, but I always find something better to do, or it’s too hot, too late, or raining, or dark outside when I think of it.

Would you like to hear why I can’t ride my exercise bike? 🤣

Now, that would be true if it were in my bedroom, but it’s in the tv room!

Working from home was mandated by my employer, and it gave me more time to walk, and I also started using some old dumbbells and a barbell. The brisk walking has also been better exercise than golfing, which had been using up six or so hours a week, which I’m still avoiding (actually I start losing interest when I don’t play for a few months).
