Sr. Faustina, who was a cloistered Poor Clare Colettine in Cleveland, Ohio, for 13 years, as left the community. She is following her inspirations to start a new Franciscan community dedicated to the service of priests, religious, and seminarians. This video has her email address at the end. One question, she is still a religious? Right? What happened to her habit?

She has exclaustrated, which means she’s left the community, and therefore cannot wear the habit of the professed.

However, since she is in contact with the bishop and he approves of her efforts to create a new community, she likely has retained the title of “Sister” for that purpose. That’s just an educated guess.

Those who have left after perpetual profession, and seek to enter another community are usually given a short novitiate, then receive the black veil.

I know of a religious who left her congregation after final profession. She wandered many years before finally finding the correct “fit”. After a short novitiate, they gave her the black veil.

Even when they have the diocesan recognition service, she will likely be permitted to make temporary vows for 3 years, unless she is to be admitted to perpetual profession.

I guess emailing her for clarification would be the proper thing to do.
