Just some references for you-I don’t quote because it would take days to do that but like I said, Sts. Theresa of Avillla, John of the Cross, Catherine of Sienna (the dialogue) -all three readable and free online. St Augustine’s “City of God” -very very long just skip to the second half-awesome resource for scriptural understanding among other things. And then there’s Sts Brigette whom Christ explains His nature to along with His justness. And for a really ardent seeker of understanding Christ and the Blessed Mother there’s Blessed Anne Catherine Emerick. Many Catholics do not realize the amount of questions God actually answered through His Saints. Many people today believe their questions or philosophies are new-our pride is astronomical. I can assure you that our philosophies are ancient and our questions about our faith date back to the apostles themselves. The first major heretic who argued against the truth of the Holy Trinity was Arian who was one of St. Polycarp’s apprentices. Polycarp was St. John’s apprentice (St. John the author of the book of Reelations). And every idea you can come up with has already been brought to the table and addressed by either St. Augustine of St. Thomas or another of the many of intellectually enlightened children of God. You will rarely find legitimate answers on a blog site. Reading from those chosen by God to explain His mysteries-His saints are really your safest bet.

The “no death” part might be debatable:

Isaiah 65:20 - “No more shall there be in it an infant that lives but a few days, or an old man who does not fill out his days, for the child shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed.”

There is no more premature death, but there is still death.

There will be no death, physical or spiritual. Each will receive a perfect, transfigured, immortal body unite with their already immortal soul, and will live forever in paradise on a transformed earth, and God will dwell among them.

God bless you.

Hi Pambarnes1516,

I read all your posts. Very interesting. I have some of the reference material you sited. I’ll have to dig them out.

I feel like I am the blind man whom Jesus healed but first he(the man) saw men that looked like trees. I also think that the HS is working on me but I am getting impatient.🙂

Thanks for your detailed explanation. I find it amazing that people can put into words and explain things that I have in my head and heart. I don’t have these gifts yet.
Thanks

As an aside. I purchased the Catholicism series and have watched 4 episodes and they are wonderful. I would recommend them.

Awww that’s so kind of you. The Lord has blessed me to some extent but I have no one to share with. Literally no one I know is interested which is one of the main reasons why I come on this site. You have no idea how refreshing it is to hear from someone like you. I love to do the research and then pass off what I know to others because I know how busy people are. I wasn’t called to teach so I just wait for an opportunity to arise but I can admit I’m not that smart and so I always provide references because I fear misleading people is a common problem. I also learn a lot about the needs of people in general (spiritual needs) by observing the common concerns of my Catholic brothers an sisters and this website is a valuable ocean of common Catholic questions and answers. You can observe where the general mind of groups of people are on here. I can sense patterns common throughout the modern world and one of the main concerns I have for modern man is his intellectual pride-something the magisterium agrees with. What that means is that, unfortunately most Christians truly believe they “know” God. But there is a profound difference between “knowing God” and knowing “of God”. The reason that’s a serious problem is because one who, in his/her pride, insists they already “know” God, they cease to seek God out anymore-hence the reason for lack of theological education amongst adults and childrennand the widespread decrease of faith and sacramental participation world-wide. The “Year of Faith” was established to confront this poblem head on. The
reason these sights are so popular is because it’s fast, convenient, free and many are on here to legitamately evangelize or learn, but many are hungry for true
understanding and have no idea where to look and leading them to the Saints is exactly what Jesus would do:) Thank you for your reply. Let me know if you need anything.

Talking about knowing God and the knowing of God–no one can truly know God. I think Father said that if some one says that he knows God he knows nothing at all. One of the Catholicism episodes is about the mystery of God. I found that one good as are the other three. They are a lot to take in at one time. I would think that any one who is not a Catholic and watches these DVD’s would become Catholic. Why would any one want to be anything else?

Thanks for your offer. I will let you know
