The living bible is a pharaphrase that was done by a father with limited biblical language knowledge for his children. In Short, he was trying to make the bible interresting, understandable to his children to pass on his beliefs.

So, don’t use it as a study bible. But, good for devotion as long as you keep other translations on hand or open.

The New Living Translation IS different than the Living Bible (which the previous post was talking about). It is a really nice bible to read but, if you are Catholic it does not contain the complete scriptures (deuterocanonicals)… The Living Bible is a paraphrase done by Kenneth Taylor as easy source for his children…The Living Translation is a translation done by Wycliffe Bible Translators as a source of evangelism.

I havea copy entitled the Catholic Reference Edition it contains the Deuterocanonicals…and it dosent label them as apocryphal!! its awesome… ISBN number 0-8423-5489-1is it legit…to read?

I know that Tyndale has put out The Living Bible (Catholic edition) under the title The Way. As both of us stated before it is a good bible for personal and casual reading but it is not good for an in depth study. I like others have stated in many threads believe that the best bible is one that is read.👋
