I am a new RCIA teacher for children. I was wondering if any one had any print outs, information, websites, advice or maybe even a store where I can buy anything to help me keep my 7-12 year old students interested. Thank you & God Bless

RCIA as in Rites for Children Imitating Adults? What am I missing?

I think some places it is called.“RCIC” (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children).

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.

For baptismal purposes, the Church divides everyone into either infants or adults. Infants are those under about the age of 7 who are not considered mature enough to have the use of reason. Adults are those over about the age of 7. Adults go through various rites leading up to the sacraments of initiation at the Easter Vigil.

LOL. In a lot of parishes they refer to it as RCIC, but I did once on these forums and got swiftly bashed about the head and face. :stretcher:

But yeah, You know what they meant, 😉
Even my pastor calls it RCIC. I think it’s just easier for him to think it about it terms of how many kids we’ve got in the program and vs. how many adults. 🤷

Just a friendly FYI here:)

“RCIA” applies to a program of folks coming into the Catholic Church, usually from differing faiths.

RCIA= Rites of Christian Initiation {for} Adults

What your doing, and we THANK you for your ministry is most likely “CCD” Catholic Christian Doctrine classes.

Just a small point but thought you might like to know it:)

God Bless you,
Patrick

I think she’s probably referring to RCIA for Children. Since the ages are 7-12.
Faith Formation for Children is akin to Sunday school or as we used to call it “CCD”.

The better you know what you believe, the better teacher you’ll be. I’d say tend to your own faith formation, and the rest will fall into place. Catechizing is much more about personal witness than it is the right program, textbook, or activity.

Thank you to everyone all of your information and kind words have been helpful and inspirational. I have found some things here that I really like and will be using to help my students gain as much as possible (:

Thank you again and God Bless!!
