Yes it was Nazarreth…I had forgotton…Wasn’t “Love hurts” originally by Jim Capaldi, and Nazareth covered it?
Black Sabbath was originally formed in 1970. They were heavily blues-influenced, but their style is considered to be doom metal - quite possibly the first ever heavy metal band. I can’t remember, it was either their bassist or their drummer who was interested in the occult, and gave them some strange lyrics. They have released at least 10 albums, the first 6 with Ozzy and the rest with Dio. Paranoid, Iron Man and War Pigs, three of their best known hits, were from their second album ‘Paranoid’ (not that I’ve ever heard them being played on radio, I was born in 1985). Another popular song, from the Dio era, is ‘Heaven and Hell’.
