As a former Episcopalian who attended the ACC for some time in its very earliest days, I am familiar with the tendencies of some very high Anglo-Catholics, bishops included, to consider themselves able to receive communion in RC parishes, but that is in error. Regardless of what Mark Haverland did or did not say to you, hadn’t you noticed that you had never read anything from the RC side announcing this?

Others have given you good advice.

I have never heard of the ACC. Sounds like maybe they’re a high church split off from Anglicanism.

Ah, @thistle.

Still. Doesn’t give them the right to call themselves Catholic.

Michael,

There are many churches-- both true particular churches and ecclesial communions-- which have the word Catholic in the name of their Church.

Our Church does not own that term. Remember it goes back to the Creed, and it simply means “universal”. There are many churches that affirm the Nicene Creed and consider themselves Catholic within that context.
