Eternal life is not a gift. We must earn it. We can use our free will to learn to love honor and to serve God. God gives us all of the tools we need to grow into salvation. Mortification, sacrifice of something, food, not water, you need all the water you can drink, but some pleasure, sports, television, the computer, goood bye.

Thank you for posting this! Porn is a huge problem, yet it is often the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about. I wish we heard more from the pulpit on this destructive habit/addiction.

Great idea! The problem is unbelievably prevalent in our society, and it can be heartbreaking to wives or girlfriends to discover that someone they love is viewing pornography. It has destroyed many marriages and definitely needs to be addressed in Churches in homilies and with Catholic support groups. Unfortunately, it sure isn’t addressed at all where I live.
We’ve actually started a support group for women here at CAF who have been upset by their husbands or boyfriends viewing such things (it’s called “Women Suffering Because of Unchastity.” (We wanted the title to read, “Women Suffering from Partner’s Unchastity” or something with “pornography” in the title, but the administration at CAF wouldn’t allow it.) Any women reading this thread who may have been adversely affected by this parasite in their loved one’s life, please feel free to join the group.

I’m very sorry to hear it’s been rough for you to have to deal with. So many wives and girlfriends are affected when their loved ones view pornography. To join the women’s group, just go to the top center part of this page where it says “Groups”, then “Social Groups”, then"Available Groups", and search the word “Women” to find “Women Suffering Because of Unchastity”. Or for a quicker way you can click on my name and click “View Public Profile” to see the groups that I belong to on the bottom right of my individual page. Then just click on that group name there to get to it.
