New TLM

A third parish in my diocese has just begun offering a TLM. That makes two new (Church-approved) TLM parishes in the past year and three total in the diocese. I don’t know what’s happening recently here, but I hope it keeps up. Just felt like sharing.

That is the primary concern of the church, to support the needs of the community. I wish we had at least 1 Latin Mass here!

Whew! From the thread title, I was afraid they had changed the Order of Mass.

Yes, there is a new order for the Tridentine. I was felt it wasn’t relevant enough to people today and there was a need to make the people one with the liturgy so that the priest and the people can all pray together, sitting round a circle with a guitar singing folksy songs. In Latin.

Anyway, there does seem to be an improvement in my area too. A new Missa Cantana started up once a month at the end of last year and in January the new Oratory should be offering I understand a Low Mass every day and a High Mass every Sunday. In the meantime, there’s a Franciscan brother from the same order that celebrates the Missa Cantana giving teaching on the significance of different parts of the TLM. Exciting times!
