I wanted to ask a pariticular question about the new missal during the celebration of the Eucharist.
Currently the Priest says, “Take this, all of you, and drink from it: this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlastingcovenant. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me.”
The new translation says, “Take this, all of you, and drink from it: for this is the chalice of my Blood, the Blood of the new andeternal covenant, which will bepoured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.”
My question is about the word change from all to many. At first glance this reminds me of my calvanist friends who claim Christ only died for some and not all people.
If someone could explain this and put my concerns to rest I would be greatly appreciative.
God Bless
