Dear friends in Christ,

I wanted to let you know a website just launched to explain St.Athanasius’ statement that “God became man so that man might become God” (Catechism Catholic Church #460). It is nikaview.com . You can also find an “Open Letter to Muslims” with Catholic apologetics. Finally, there is a weekly hard-hitting social and political commentary. This week: “Gay ‘Marriage’: How Christians Shot Themselves in the Foot”. Please visit.

God bless,
Matthew Tsakanikas

St. A was Mormon?
Not hardly. The site will help you understand why St. Athanasius’s statement is a very Catholic one, as Catholic as this from St. John of the Cross 🙂 . . .
If anything pleases Him it is the exaltation of the soul. Since there is no way by which He can exalt her more than by making her equal to Himself, He is pleased only with her love. For the property of love it to make the lover equal to the object loved, The Spiritual Canticle, stz. 28, #1.

Taken from the Catholic Encyclopedia on New Advent:
"Bishop of Alexandria; Confessor and Doctor of the Church; born c. 296; died 2 May, 373. Athanasius was the greatest champion of Catholic belief on the subject of the Incarnation that the Church has ever known and in his lifetime earned the characteristic title of “Father of Orthodoxy”, by which he has been distinguished every since.
