Help Empower Parents to Select
The Best School for Their Kids
Your immediate action is needed to promote two very important education tax credit bills in the NYS Legislature. These measures would help all parents offset the costs associated with the education of their children as well as encourage increased private sector donations in education.
**One bill (S.1939 by Golden / A.8203 by Lopez) would provide all parents with a tax credit of up to $1,500 per child, or a maximum of $3,000, for their education expenses, including tuition at religious and independent schools, instructional materials, tutoring, programs fees, etc. **
The other bill (S.3101 by Maltese / A.6145 by Hikind) would provide individuals and corporations with a significant tax credit for donations they make to public and charter schools and/or scholarship organizations that serve children in religious and independent schools. Parents who home-school their children would also be eligible for a tax credit for their educational expenses.
**Both bills would provide all teachers (including those in religious and independent schools) with a tax credit for their out-of-pocket expenses for classroom materials.
**
The legislature will soon adjourn for the summer so your help is urgently needed. To take action, click here now.
Thank you for your continued commitment to our children’s education!
