Hi everyone.
My husband and I have been married for 6months and have been using NFP during that time for birth control.
I’m currently in an anovulatory phase, and have been diagnosed with a 4cm cyst on my left ovary. We refused the Pill for treatment of the cyst (since the Pill doesn’t do anything to heal an existing cyst but only prevents the creation of new cysts) and have decided to take this phase as best we can still using NFP and trusting God.

My question is whether any of you know if there are symptoms of anovulation that make charting a bit different during those phases? Does the cervix change?

Has anyone else experienced anovulatory times? I would love to hear of your experiences… it would be a great encouragement.

Thanks!

Grace,
hollie

Hi Hollie,

Oh yes, I know anovulatory well lol, as I don’t ever ovulate on my own! I’m currently taking clomid and am FINALLY gonna ovulate this cycle, but my regular cycles just look like a big collection of up and down temps. My cervix will go between being low and firm and being high and soft, though I’ve noticed this cycle my cervix is higher than it’s ever been and I have true egg white mucous. My other cycles, I would never get actual EW mucous and my cervix never got as high as it is this cycle. But then again, I’m finally ovulating this month so that’s why it’s different.

So, in short, an anovulatory phase will show no true temperature shift. My mucous and cervix would never show any true patterns as well. Hope this helps!

P.S. I had a cyst on my left ovary recently as well, my doc suggested ABC (uh, duh, I’m TTC right now ) so I refused and had an oupatient surgery done instead to have the cyst aspirated. Prayers for you on your TTC journey! :gopray:
