Hi Everyone,

My wife and I are looking for a local list of OBGYN doctors that help their patents with NFP. Anyone know where I can find such list?

I also forgot to mention that you can check into local midwives. There isn’t a NFP friendly Dr. near us, so we go to a midwife. They have more of a natural mindset, so she is supportive and respectful of our using NFP. She is also more familiar with the method than most other doctors.

Thanks! It looks like there are plenty in our area, so we have a good place to start.

You can also check with your local catholic hospitals – that’s how we found our “trainer” – she was located in a catholic hospital, and pointed us towards NFP-friendly docs (there are more out there than I thought! woohoo!) – anyway, good luck to you, and it really is easy when you get the hang of it –

We had our first meeting last night with our trainers. Whoa, lots of material to absorb. But what was most clear is that is cannot be only on my wife, we have to do this together.

I’m sorry…I’m not laughing…ok, yes I am…THANK GOODNESS you realized that at the first session!!! LMBO! I think it took my wonderful man a couple of sessions…esp since it was all the female signs/symptoms, etc. And oh – don’t forget, you, your wife and God – it’s the only “threesome” the church sanctions in the bedroom…he he…(sorry, my instructor said that and I about fell off the chair) – Good luck, and you will be amazed at how much closer it can bring you both to eachother – religious beliefs aside, it is simply a wonderful way to share your lives completely and wholly. Together. I never thought it would work SO strongly for our relationship – I just figured I didn’t want ABC, so I’d have find something I could live with in my heart – the marital bonuses were like butter cream icing on my wonderfully rich chocolate cake…LOL!

And as understanding your body and identifying other issues aside from pregnant/not pregnant…it’s invaluable

Congrats on taking your first step! I agree that the info can be overwhelming at first, but it gets to be second nature by the end of your training. Trust me- if I can do this, ANYONE can! My husband and I teach NFP and have to laugh at ourselves with every class we teach. We still use our old manual from when we were NFP students and made so many mistakes going through the workbook. Now when we teach, it helps our students feel comfortable if they make mistakes and they realize that it’s okay if you don’t get it at first. Every class we’ve taught, it just suddenly clicks with them and then they think it’s easy. Hang in there! 👍
