NFP Makes No Sense To Me

Early in our marriage, we were using condoms. It never sat right with me, but my sin was also my silence. Eventually, I managed to convince my husband that trust me, I know my body, but he still wanted to use condoms at fertile times. Eventually, I just said I can’t do this anymore and we’ve been following the church teachings ever since.

And you know what? We have MORE sex now that we’re using NFP. Yup. More sex. Better sex. Our sex drives are more inline with each other. Yes, we have days when we really really want to have sex but choose not to right now for a few reasons. We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for our reasons for avoiding right, so we are looking forward to that.

We aren’t non-sexual during the days we avoid intercourse. We nuzzle, we cuddle, we grope a bit, we kiss a lot, every day even when we aren’t trying to turn each other on. On a day when we truly know that we don’t want to end in intercourse, we try not to get too worked up because then it’s just hard for both of us.

You know there is such a thing as being sexually frustrated. This can tend to affect every aspect of your relationship at times. This in no way means that your relationship evolves around sex. It just means that you have a healthy desire for your spouse that is being snuffed. There is nothing wrong with struggling with that.
Oh, I agree. But, if your choice is total abstinence, periodic abstinence (through NFP) or not follwoing Church teaching, which do you pick?

NFP is a a little unnatural. Sometimes it’s hard to have sex when it’s time but you *don’*t feel like it, but when you do feel like it, it’s not time. It’s a sacrifice.
