Nine Year Countdown

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Tomorrow is Reformation Day. On Oct. 31, 1517 Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the church door at Wittenburg, sparking what has become known as the Reformation.

With but nine years remaining until we reach the 500th anniversary of this event, I wish to share a sentiment I hold to my friends here at CAF. It is this:

I would like to invite all Lutherans and Catholics, and others who wish to do so, to mark this occasion as a time of prayer, prayer for the unity that Christ wishes us to have. And a prayer that this unity to ocurr by the time the 500th anniversary arrives in 2017.
This may be a tall order, but nothing is impossible for Him

I hope you will join me in prayer, not debate, that the Holy Spirit brings us together in unity by October 31, 2017.

This is always a prayer of mine and will now be even more so, especially tomorrow!
Can we pray for this unity before the 500th Anniversary or not?

You are 100% right…“for nothing will be impossible for God” (Luke 1:37).

I feel like our desire for unity becomes a prayer in itself!

One thing we as Christians - Orthodox and Protestants included, have to realize that we REALLY need to come together as ONE - as how the Church was in the beginning. Our faith may not last for long if we always insist on warring with words. We have too many enemies who are waiting for the perfect opportunity to lead this world into total chaos and darkness. :knight2:
