NIV Translation

Anyone own the RSV Reader’s edition published by Oxford University Press?
I only ask because I’m considering getting it shipped from the U.S. for my casual reading as all my other Bibles have too many distracting footnotes, which can often pry you away from what you are reading. Is it anything like the RSV 2nd edition by ignatius, I have that edition on my shelf, but the notes can be distracting. So what are Oxford’s bibles like?

I am so sorry, this thread was originally intended to be about the NIV but i changed it, and mistakenly did not change the title, my deepest apologies for misleading anyone! And now it won’t let me edit the post :S
