Let’s hope this is it.

I am an aspiring theology major and French minor. (I’m just asking for suffering) I have been looking everywhere, but I cannot find a reasonably priced, scholarship-filled, ORTHODOX Catholic college with the programs I am looking for.

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!! It is BEYOND frustrating.

I applaud your plans, but would you be willing to change them a bit? To get into a good Catholic school may mean changing your plans. There is the College in Omaha (sorry, but I can’t remember how to spell the name and am afraid of looking totally foolish for trying) that might work. I believe it’s run by, and taught by, mainly Jesuit priests. So, the theology should be good, the problem might be with your selection of a minor. Unless you have a specific plan for it, I’d drop the French for the moment. 🤷

Most youth ministers (even theology teachers) needs secondary jobs to get by. Tutoring French at a local college or actually teaching French would be good for me because I am proficient in the Language.

As long as you’re in it for the right reason, I guess. I find myself wondering about that though. I guess that goes back a few years. In my freshman year in high school, I met a senior who was in her fourth year of spanish. She went on to Oral Roberts University (is that even still around?) and got a major in chemistry and a minor in spanish. I never did hear what she did with that degree. I think I do remember hearing that she got married. After that, nothing. Do you plan on going to teach?

Yes. In Louisiana where French is usually the only language taught in schools.

After a lot of prayer and discussion I have decided that Mt. St. Mary’s in Maryland is my first choice for a school. Lots of scholarships, great financial aid, and finally amazing programs. There is a diversity in that university that schools like Franciscan do not offer. I like a lot of interfaith dialogue. 😉

I’m glad to hear that you found a school that has what you want. I hope, and pray, that you use this time for God’s glory and grace. May he lead you to where you can do the most good.
