No more sin offering or animal sacrifice

Does anyone know where in the Bible it says there will be no more sin offerings after the Messiah has come. Which meant no more animal sacrifice.

We are now only to give the thanksgiving offering which is given at mass, the ‘Eucharistia’.

Perhaps this:

*Malachi 2:3 And he shall sit refining and cleansing the silver, and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and shall refine them as gold, and as silver, and they shall offer sacrifices to the Lord in justice. *

The sons of Levi, the Levitical priests, had offered animal sacrifice, which Malachi prophesies will be purified.

Hebrews 10:1-10 For the law having a shadow of the good things to come, not the very image of the things; by the selfsame sacrifices which they offer continually every year, can never make the comers thereunto perfect: For then they would have ceased to be offered: because the worshippers once cleansed should have no conscience of sin any longer: But in them there is made a commemoration of sins every year. For** it is impossible that with the blood of oxen and goats sin should be taken away**. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith: Sacrifice and oblation thou wouldest not: but a body thou hast fitted to me: “They would have ceased”… If they had been of themselves perfect to all the intents of redemption and remission, as Christ’s death is there would have been no occasion of so often repeating them: as there is no occasion for Christ’s dying any more for our sins. Holocausts for sin did not please thee. Then said I: Behold I come: in the head of the book it is written of me: that I should do thy will, O God. In saying before, Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin thou wouldest not, neither are they pleasing to thee, which are offered according to the law. Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: he taketh away the first, that he may establish that which followeth. In the which will, we are sanctified by the oblation of the body of Jesus Christ once.
Hebrews 10 is all about the superiority of Christ’s sacrifice and how the OT sacrifice is “taketh away” (v. 9)

Is my understanding correct that the sacrificial system of the Old Testament was inseparably linked to the Temple in Jerusalem ?

I was under the impression that sacrifices could only be offered by a Temple priest in the Temple, and with the destruction of the Temple in 70A.D., the sacrificial system was effectively destroyed with it, so sin offerings as required under Mosaic law can not be offered anyway.

Adding to this a bit … Hebrews is the best read on this subject, particularly chapters 7-10. Hebrews describes the role of the high priests and temple, shows the parallels between the blood sacrifices of the Law and Christ’s sacrifice, and explains how Christ’s work formed a new covenant.

Here’s a passage from Hebrews 9:

11 But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that have come to be, passing through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made by hands, that is, not belonging to this creation,
12 ***he entered once for all into the sanctuary, not with the blood of goats and calves but with his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption. ***
13 For if the blood of goats and bulls and the sprinkling of a heifer’s ashes can sanctify those who are defiled so that their flesh is cleansed,
14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to worship the living God.
