When Jesus taught us “The Our Father” or “The Lord’s Prayer”, was he not demonstrating that we go directly to GOD The Father with our confessions?

When Christ, after the Ressurection, entered the room where the Apostles were gathered (the door was shut, by the way) the first thing he did was: “He breathed on them and said unto them, receive the Holy Spirit. Whosover sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; whosoever sins you shal retain, they are retained.”

This is when Jesus instituted the Sacrament of Reconciliation and it has been retained, not only in the Catholic Church, but in each and every Church that can directly trace it’s roots back to the Apostolic Period and follow the praxes of the early church. For example, St Mark founded the Church in Alexandria which became what is today the Coptic Church. It is also documented in the earliest writings of the early church. For exemple, there is a book from the period of the Apostles on the order of worship which is called “the teachings of the Apostles” or Didache which indicated
