Pnewton, thanks for clarifying that. I have a few friends who are priests, and every time we’ve casually discussed the Tridentine Mass, from their reaction you would think that I had suggested they set their hair afire! I do think it’s a shame that so many validly ordained priests are currently unavailable for celebrating the Mass in the Extraordinary Form validly and licitly, though.

Although I am caught breathless by the sheer beauty and majesty of the Tridentine Mass, and remember it well from my childhood, I wouldn’t necessarily describe myself as a traditionalist. I prefer to describe myself as a plain Jane, run-of-the-mill, seen one, seen 'em all Catholic faithful to the Holy Father. I think there are quite a few of us who do pine for the beauty of the Tridentine Mass, but aren’t interested in making such a radical move to attend one celebrated by the SSPX. I wish these priests would come back to the larger Church. And I’m sad because that doesn’t seem to be happening.

It’s benedictine, right? I recognize “ora” from Mass and “labora” is an obvious cognate.
