So my grandma is a funeral planner at a local parish and mentioned that there is a man they are planning a funeral for who recently died. The person was an adult, never baptized, had no desire to be baptized, but the wife was/is catholic, all the kids were catholic, and the kids went to catholic schools. The wife requested that her husband have a ‘catholic funeral.’ The priest is allowing it but there will be no sprinkling of the casket or draping it in white to symbolize baptism. I know the canon law answer for the question for those who are baptized but not catholic and want a catholic funeral but have not been able to find an answer regarding a non-baptized person. Thoughts?
