I know, the statement, “Non-biased documentation of Christian History” is a silly one but what would you suggest as fitting for a Catholic and an Assemblies of God to discuss Christian/Church history that might fall under this category? I am looking for documentation that an evavgelical would be open to listening/researching. Also, what is the common thought among Protestants concerning Christian/Church History, namely that among Pentacostals?

Please pray for Christian Unity

I would think any King James version of the Bible would be acceptable… 👍

Hehe. . . unfortunately, for all its merits, the KJV does not cover Christian history beyond what is in the Scriptures.

Come to think of it, no Bible does (other than what they might say in included extra-Biblical commentary)

Hi 1astheyare1

A World Lit Only by Fire

By William Manchester

This book shows the misbehavior of everyone indiscriminately. If you check the book reviews at Amazon you will see it tends to upset both Catholics and protestants, but I found it to be fairly accurate and unbiased in comparison to the other histories in my library. The book is also well written and a good read as long as your not looking for something that glosses over the bad stuff.

Manchester definitely knows how to bring history to life.

As long as your willing to recognize that people can misbehave terribly weather in the Church or out it should make for good discussion between you and your friend.

Plus this book gives a good idea of how people lived during the dark ages which helps to understand why they behaved how they did.

Peace

Scott
