My husband is not Catholic. He attends mass with me every Sunday and he says he enjoys going. However, he also says that he will not convert unless God directs him to. I have accepted it and I pray for his conversion daily. On some occasions, he takes communion. He knows the Church’s teaching that non-Catholics are not to take communion. Am I being sinful by allowing him to take communion?

As your non-Catholic husband “knows the Church’s teaching that non-Catholics are not to take [C]ommunion,” whether he receives or not is his responsibility. You are not sinning by his decision to ignore the Church’s guideline that he not present himself for Communion while he is a non-Catholic. You might share the question-and-answer below with your husband:

Reception of Catholic Communion by Non-Catholics
