Non-Catholic baptism?

Well if he’s never aware of them, then he doesn’t really have those obligations. At least it cleanses him from original sin so that he definitely goes to Heaven if (God forbid!) something should happen to him before he reaches the age of consent.

The problem is that the parents, by trying to play lawyers looking for loopholes in the Church’s law, condemn themselves to damnation. The child is not in danger of death and so they must obey the Church and they do that through obedience to the priest. If the child dies before he is baptized and the parents desire for him to be baptized then I think that they are in the realm of baptism by desire because the delay was imposed by the Church.

If the parents are not willing to show obedience to the Church and to reconcile with her, then there is no true desire for the baptism because there is no real understanding of the sacrament and faith on their side. My point is that right now from what I read here I could assume that the parents’ salvation appears to be at more risk than the child’s salvation.
