It is OK to dance before the Lord.
It is OK to lift up; holy hands unto the Lord.
Holy means seperate not somber.
Yes, but not at the foot of the cross on Mt. Calvary. Would you dance before the Lord on the cross? Unlike Protestant worship, the Catholic Mass is participation in the perpetual sacrifice of the cross.
Since this concept is so easily misinterpreted by Protestants, it’s worth exploring more deeply before responding glibly:

Personally, I prefer traditional Catholic liturgical music and chants because they are spiritually profound. Happy, clappy doesn’t take me very deeply into the awesome mysteries of Christ and our faith. Since non-denominational and other Evangelical services are just religious social events, I can understand why happy, clappy and not Catholic liturgical music is the order of the day, though.
This Catholic one is simply, too beautiful to express in words:

To me, this is too goofy for church, but more importantly, the music is about the
performers and watching their choreography, rather than about elevating one’s mind to the sacred:

Not really sure what this is because I can’t hear the lyrics, but it sounds happy and clappy. Look even at the surroundings. Industrial and uninspiring. It certainly doesn’t elevate one to the sacred, the way the Salzburg Cathedral in the first video does:

I’ll take the Catholic music over the others any day. It’s sad that some Protestants can’t appreciate the beauty and depth of our music.
