I was looking for a place to publish my essays, and was looking through the big Writer’s Market book. Looked at the “Religious” section (since that’s what I just tend to write about all the time) and saw lots of ideas–but then this magazine stood out like a sore thumb…
Seriously, Catholics for Choice? When I first read the description in the Market book I thought it said “Pro-Life”, because that’s the Catholic teaching, but then I did a double-take. Indeed, it is a “pro-choice” magazine, and that just rubbed me the wrong way.
I googled their website, and read the “About Us.” How can a Catholic possibly think that there is room for debate on this topic? They also claimed that the Church does not know the actual point when life begins–logically, it begins at conception (and I thorougly enjoyed reading Kreeft’s Unaborted Socrates on that topic).
I just find it unfathomable that some people really do think that they can disagree with the Church on something like this, and disagree enough to create a Pro Choice Catholic group.

I may even be able to try to get it published in a truly Catholic magazine or newspaper. (My essays aren’t academic, but rather about everyday life with a little lesson in it, in case y’all were wondering 
I do write academic rhetoric, but it’s much more fun to read when there’s real life examples and stories 
)
