Non lustful sexual thoughts

If sexual thoughts come up that are not lustful is that sinful?

Such as:
Previous sexual sins come into my head during examination of conscious?

Or when trying to determine if I’ve confessed a previous sexual sin and the image pops into my head.

These might sit on my mind for a time but I’m not trying to get any pleasure out of them.

Is this sinful or just a scrupulous conscience.

If every time we remember our previous sins, that then becomes another sin, there is no hope for anyone.

Thoughts that pop into your head are not themselves sinful. Deliberately keeping them there often is. Especially if by doing so you are willingly objectifying yourself or others.

If you are fighting against having the thoughts, you probably aren’t sinning. You might be unwittingly creating the conditions whereby such thoughts enter your head more easily, though, and it’s really important to figure that out.

Either way, definitely talk to a priest.
