LONDON, November 20, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Terry Grange, the leading officer on child protection of the UK’s Association of Chief Police Officers’ has ignited controversy by commenting in an interview with The Sunday Times that pornography featuring children at 13 years of age should not be considered child porn. Grange also said that the term “pedophiles” should only apply to adults who have sex with 12 and under.

True. But the agenda is in the media and among gay activists. I see Catholics and others all the time note the difference between pedophilia and ephebophilia. The media doesn’t do that, probably to avoid more clearly associating men who molest post-pubescent boys with homosexuality.

I recall reading somewhere that the USA has one of the highest “ages of consent” in the world. If I recall (I may be very wrong here) that Canada had an age of consent of 14.

The article, if I recall, was a kind of editorial that said we have too many “nice young men” sitting in jail as a convicted sex offender, convicted of statutory rape, simply because their girlfriend was 17 when they were 19.

Please! This is truly the sign of a sick society. Sexual morality is utterly absent.

The story here is about how the ACLU got a judge to strike down Vermont’s child porn laws! This admittely is four years old, but that should give you an idea of how long they have been pushing this and how important it is to them that they are still boasting about this one.

Actually, if the child was post-pubescent…that would actually be more of the traditional catholic opinion. Of course we are still against all pornography, but I’m not sure I really buy into the whole “there’s a difference between 15 and 19” if they have both hit puberty (there are lots of 15 year olds more sexually developed and mature than some 19 year olds…)

13 is a little too young however, I doubt they could be considered fully transitioned yet.

In canon law girls can still get married at 14 (in the past it was even younger) and once people have hit puberty (a real biological line) having strange legal imaginary lines at other ages is a puritan, protestant creation.

Catholics should favor young sexuality, WITHIN YOUNG MARRIAGE.

This prolonged “adolescence” in America is unnatural and unheathy.

Psychologically speaking, if history is any judge, humans should hit puberty, “cross the threshold” in a rite of passage, and then be treated as adults.

Sex with 15 and 16 year-olds has been the norm in human societies for thousands of years. At what age did girls marry in Jesus’ time and society? At what age did his mother marry?

How disgusting! If you’re under 18 then it’s child porn! Porn is disgusting regardless of the age but child porn is especially disgusting. I can’t believe they are doing this.
