North American Anglicanism Implodes

The Anglican / Episcopal churches of North America have been thrown into chaos by their own actions.They have been more or less suspended from the World Wide Anglican Communion, for their aberations.
It is assumed that they never envisioned the reaction of the majority of the 77 million church. To their actions.The spark that set this off was the consecration of an active homosexual as bishop of New Hampshire.In order to do this they denied Scripture, Leviticus of course,also Romans and others.They repudiated their agreements with Canterbury that covered this question.The resistance was almost imediate.
Those that supported the act tried to talk up the old big tent theory. that the Episcopal church USA and Anglican church of Canada could hold people. Who thought that an active homosexual bishop was o.k and those that thought it was an abomination.Loud arguements broke out in many churches all over North America. Outside the north America.Other Anglican churces broke off relations with the American churches. The Eastern Orthodox churches broke off all discussions with the North American branches of Anglcanism.
Rome made it clear that the presence of representitives of the North American Anglican churches was inappropriate at meetings.Finaly a meeting of all the primates of the world wide Anglican Communion was held.They suspended the North American churches from the Communion. Told them to prepare an explanation for their behaviour and report back . That meeting has takn place,the explanation has been found to be not good enough.The suspension is expanded and confirmed till the next Lambeth conference in 2008.It dont look good for the North American provinces.

Quoting Leviticus is rather dubious, unless it can be shown why it is fine to quote those verses, and the others which neighbour them.​

To think that a verse is irrelevant to a particular dispute or issue, is not the same as denying it. FWIW, I think that the passage of Romans 1 often quoted in this connection is a better passage to choose than the two commonly quoted from Leviticus. ##

Do you have any more details about that last reaction, from Rome ?​

Presumably Jesus should have broken off eating with “publicans & sinners” - Thank God He did not. After all, any sickness in one part of the Body affects all parts. No left arm in its senses will break off because the right foot has a serious wound - what body could function if that happened ? Harm to one part, is harm to all, just as the good of one is the good of all. ##

Certainly the left arm would not break off because of a wound in the right foot, but if a limb is gangrenous (in the days before antibiotics) it would have to be amputated to keep the infection from spreading and killing the whole body. It’s not pretty, but it is sometimes necessary.

I just shake my head in sadness at news like this. You are right, I ought to turn it to a cause for prayer.

Aside from perhaps the Polish Nat. Catholic Church. It seems like every “catholic type” church that breaks off Rome turns feminine, gay, unsacramental, or all three. Old Catholics, Anglican (there is no “high church” (BS) anymore) . The “archbishop” of Canterbury could do himself and his real Catholic ancestors proud and come home from this nonsence. Why are they scared of the pope ??? Pride is such a terrible thing in the mirror of truth.

Is this for real? I mean, I think it would be a good thing, but have they actually done this? I thought the Anglicans were being wishy-washy about North America.

A Navy Chaplain friend of mine brought up the big problem with the Anglican’s finally coming home…all of the stolen church property in England.
