Not enough love for God?

we all know the first commandment to love God with all your heart and soul. Well, i don’t think that i love God enogh. I get a little sparkle in my heart in church or in prayer or what not sometimes but I don’t think that it’s enough. God deserves more. I know that love is also an action aswell as a feeling but I don’t feel like i do either one that well.

Jesus says If you love Me you will keep My commandments. Do that and you don’t have to worry. Love is more than an emotion or a four letter word, it is not a sparkly feeling or hot flashes. It begins in obedience.

Love is a choice, not a feeling. Feelings are a side bonus, especially where someone as intangible as God is concerned. They are important in discernment, sometimes, but not as much as the decision to love.As the previous poster said, Jesus told us to follow God’s commandments to show that we love Him. If you want to do more, perhaps you could read up on the lives of the saints. I think a number of them wrote on just this subject. You could also volunteer at your parish; sacrifice some of your free time to serve others.

I agree with both puzzleannie and pumpkinbeast! Love is not a feeling. it is a choice! I want to add: Pray for Gods help and guidance if you find love of God and neighbor (the command Jesus gave us) difficult. God is very patient with people that ask for his help to change!
