Is it a mortal sin to not go to mass on Christmas day if you went on Christmas Eve?
No. Why would it be? You fulfilled your obligation. Is it a mortal sin to not go to mass on Christmas day if you went on Christmas Eve?
It isn’t a sin at all. Of course, and this is for clarity, by “Christmas Eve” you mean in the evening, not Christmas eve day, right? Is it a mortal sin to not go to mass on Christmas day if you went on Christmas Eve?
I amend my post; it seems I didn’t read the OP clearly.No. Why would it be? You fulfilled your obligation.
This can be confusing too as in the older missals (pre-1970) Christmas Vigil Mass was said on the entire day of Dec 24th.I amend my post; it seems I didn’t read the OP clearly.
As the other posters said, you need to have attended Christmas Vigil Mass in order to fulfill your obligation.
