Is it a mortal sin to not go to mass on Christmas day if you went on Christmas Eve?

Depends. If you attended a Mass after 4pm you fulfilled your obligation. (Some consider Christmas Eve as the entire day of Dec. 24th.)

It isn’t a sin at all. Of course, and this is for clarity, by “Christmas Eve” you mean in the evening, not Christmas eve day, right?

No. Why would it be? You fulfilled your obligation.
I amend my post; it seems I didn’t read the OP clearly.

As the other posters said, you need to have attended Christmas Vigil Mass in order to fulfill your obligation.

This can be confusing too as in the older missals (pre-1970) Christmas Vigil Mass was said on the entire day of Dec 24th.

If you attended an evening vigil Mass, you have fulfilled your obligation. If it was a morning Mass on the 24th (i.e. Feast of Sts. Adam and Eve), you have not.
