My State leader is describing corona virus as a wicked enemy, today I hear news reporters echoing this …
but it’s a virus,how can it be ‘wicked” ?
It just seems a weird description for something that
doesn’t have a conscience…🤔

NQR, It could work under its definition of playfully mischievous or evil and morally wrong.

Dan Andrews is doing a great job trying to keep a lid on this. If he misuses words I dont think we should point fingers, given the immense strain he is under at the moment.

It is an enemy, lets face it.

The word “wicked” can also mean, colloquially, something that is particularly destructive or severe. It has nothing to do with conscience when used in that sense. We have little nuances in our language to describe things somewhat metaphorically.

Wicked is not the word I would choose.

Formidable would be morally neutral and more to the point.
