Not really sure if it was wrong, but still doing it because it is too late

I was registrating for something today and I was really worried about how the tutorial school I was enrolling in could infringe copyright and I was really scared that I would be doing something bad by paying them. Can I still go there? Because some schools just copy stuff and make money out of it. Or should I go to the first lesson, get the notes, and see?

The more important thing is that while I was wondering, I was also paying the money. I thought it was too late to hange anything because I filled in forms, chose the classes. I didn’t realize I could just say no at the time.

What if someone is hesitating and doing the thing that they are worrying about? Can that be a sin?

So far you are not sinning you are just worrying. If you want to be prudent you can contact the school and ask them about their course materials until you are satisfied that they are (or are not) using proper materials. They should also have a drop-out policy where they give you all or part of your money back if you decide against the course.

As for your last question, if you are worrying that something is a sin but doing it anyway, I would say that would be a cause for concern. In order to be a sin, it has to be done with full knowledge and consent. But if you deliberately don’t get the knowledge and instead just worry about it, you could be culpable.

How culpable? I mean, if something is of grave matter (as does not seem to be the case here) and you suspect that it is, but don’t know that it is and still continue to do it, is that mortally sinful? What if at the time, you didn’t even think to try and find out, or had tried in the past to find out, but couldn’t?

Hm, cause for concern? I have experienced these things a few times and I was wondering while I was doing it. Like “I am not sure, but…” I had no memory or I am not sure if I didn’t care about offending God. The period of time was too short for me to remember and I worried about it right afterwards.
