Not sure if I have commited a Mortal Sin?

I’m probably just really scrupulous right now, to be honest. But until I go to Confession, I would like to know if you guys could help me out.

On Sunday, I was chatting with a friend of mine, and I commented that I thought that people with homosexual tendencies should be able to join religious orders - if they had the real, utter purpose of being celibate and, in case they happened to notice that they are being tempted beyond the point they can handle, thought about it with care.
I also said, at some point, that those with homosexual tendencies would face similar challenges that heterosexual people would and, if only these things were to be considered, most Priests could not be ordained as well as they’d have the same temptations when being surrounded by women while celebrating Mass, hearing Confessions and everything else. I regret deeply saying those things.

I know the Vatican has already said that people with deep-rooted homosexual tendencies should not be accepted into Seminary, and Pope Francis said that these people should not consider religious life (or something like this). This is why I am particuarly very worried I might have commited a Mortal Sin by making this commentary.

A lot of things have crossed my mind: that I have commited heresy; that my intentions are solely to bring wrong things to the Church and everything in between. It’s making me really sad and worried. And, on Monday, I went to Mass and (even thinking about what I said and trying to tell if it was Mortal Sin or not) I took the Holy Communion. I’m afraid I might have commited this sacrilege as well.

Please. I know only a Father can help me right now, but it would be great to hear your opinions or, at least, have your prayer intentions. Thank you all!!

As you have already said you are scrupulous in your other thread, we should not give you any advice or opinions. Speak to your priest, not people on the internet.

It is a bit temerarious and rash but if you are frequently anxious about such things you should calm down and simply resolve to hold your tongue more, keeping a regular habit of confession. Nothing you indicate would be “heretical.”

From now on, do not bother trying to restrain yourself from Holy Communion unless you are very sure you have mortally sinned.
