I know it would be easier to cast me off as just a “drive-by” traddy nut, because then you wouldn’t have to face the fact that your NeoCatholic experts don’t always dish out the right advice. But here’s the link to the second post, concerning the priest drawing a nude model.
I am in no way a “liberal,” but I am an artist, and I see nothing wrong with the apologist’s answer. Anyone who wishes to learn to draw the human form accurately MUST draw from life. For centuries, the Catholic Church was the foremost patron of some of the greatest art the world has ever seen, and nudes appear prominently in much of that artwork. I cannot imagine that it is sinful for a priest to simply study the crafts involved in the making of traditional art.
