Hi I have a question. I am going through RCIA to become Catholic but I know that today I committed a mortal sin. How would I be able to get this sin forgiven? Do I just try to make a perfect act of contrition?
Baptism by desire.Yes I know I will be forgiven at baptism…but what about if I died tomorrow? How can God forvive my mortal sins if I am not even yet catholic?
Essentially, yes. Because God knows how much you are sorry for your sins and how much you want to be baptized, He would not hold your sins against you.so basically the baptism of desire will apply to all my sins, mortal and venial up until the day of my actual baptism?
That’s an important point. You still need to be sorry for your sins for them to be forgiven, even by baptism.Essentially, yes. Because God knows how much you are sorry for your sins and how much you want to be baptized, He would not hold your sins against you.![]()
