At first blush, the blog looks like it was created by a Freshman philosophy/theology student who is testing out their new vocabulary in order to justify a liberal spin on “traditionalism”.

It’s not an uninteresting blog. He has a very good point to make regarding Gregorian Chant (Feb. 26). It’s difficult to imagine that the approach to choral singing in the West wasn’t influenced by the way music in general evolved, particularly during the Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical eras. Whatever prettiness was accrued may not outweigh the haunting and melancholic quality that was lost.
