I travel light, usually a wallet, keys, and my phone.

Thinking of ditching the wallet and using one of those stick on wallets that you attach to the back of the phone. I use my phone to pay for stuff so I can use the stick on wallet to bring my drivers license with me.

Re: chafing – There’s a hack for that!

What you do is get a nice, brand new antiperspirant stick, like a big ol’ unscented SpeedStick or similar. Use it on your inner thighs (not over the bikini line!!) like you’d use a sunblock stick; but there’s no need to rub it in.

Basically, it does two things to prevent chafing: it coats your skin so that your legs can touch each other without trouble, and it prevents sweating in that area.

Obviously this might not last for a three-day march, but it’s pretty good stuff. There are more expensive products, but this is a nice cheap way to go. It lasts longer than cornstarch or talcum, by a mile. (Just don’t confuse your leg antiperspirant stick with your underarm one!)

If you do anticipate a three day march in a skirt, it is possible to “tape up” your inner thighs, just as runners tape up their feet to prevent blisters. But it’s probably better if you can go old school, and either buy a girdle that includes thigh bits, or wear long bike shorts as underwear. (Competition bike shorts are underwear/overwear combined, because male bike racers also wish to avoid chafing.) Bike shorts are a little pricey, but so are Spanx.

That’s me too. If I have a good pocket with a zipper, I’ll often take the ID and debit card out of my wallet and “travel light”.
