Boston Globe columnist James Carroll (himself a disgruntled ex-priest) wrote a column today in the Globe blasting the idea of a gay priest ban. In the process, he brings up all his usual pet concerns with the church including his disappointment in bans on women priests, contraception, and married priests. As usual, he really emphasizes his problems with the Church’s idea of sexuality. Finally, he gets in a dig at the Boston archdiocese’s recent dismissal of the dissident priest Walter Cuenin. One wonders - why does he stay a Catholic?
